The First 100 Digits Homeschool Giveaway

Headsprout Early Learning is a series of phonics based reading lessons (episodes) for children from Kindergarten to 2nd grade.  Of course some 4 year olds may be ready for it and it may be helpful for some struggling 3rd graders but I wouldn’t recommend it for children over 7.  I believe that Headsprout serves children best that are more of a phonetically inclined type of learner.  It is best for children that have not yet begun their journey in learning to read or those that are still in their early stages of learning to read.

I have watched 3 of my children become confident readers shortly into the program. It is an entertaining and very  fun.  Some of the repetition by the second half of the program got on their nerves (and mine at times), but I know that is what makes this program a success.   My 3rd child is 5 years old and has just started the second half of the program. She is reading very well.  Of course, I think it is best to use this program as a supplement to your reading or phonics curriculum.

Their site goes into great detail about how the program works so I will not go into that here.  There are sample lessons to view and you can also try the first 3 episodes for free.  We did this and actually waited with one child because I could tell that she wasn’t yet ready for it.  The company has a fantastic customer care department!  They have always been very friendly and helpful.  When my first child completed Headsprout I had him repeat the second half of episodes just for reinforcement.  The company was happy to allow him to do that.

And now you have a chance to win all 80 episodes of Headsprout for FREE!  Again, that is a $198. value.

To enter the 100 Digits first give-away I ask that you are a homeschooling parent of a child that will be starting to read or could use a supplement in his/her reading program.  I would love for this to go to a family that is excited to use this program and watch their child become a confident reader.

So now for the giveaway details:

Please leave a Thoughtful Comment to this post and including the following:

  • Your favorite post on 100 Digits and why you like it
  • A way for me to contact you through your own blog or an email address

I will be posting the winner in the evening on Sunday, February 1.  The winner will be picked by an automated number generator at Random.org.  (This site is very fun, so you should check it out too.)   Because this blog is so new I have no idea how many will participate, but none the less, this is very exciting for me to be able to offer this and I am grateful that Headsprout was so kind to donate this to 100 Digits.

Good luck!
