Annual Home Educators’ Day at the Capitol Event

Thursday February 25, 2010

(Space is limited pre-register by 2/15/10)
Day at Capitol 2010 registration packet
Hosted by: Christian Homeschool Network & Christian Heritage Home  Educators of Washington

“In order to stand up for our homeschooling freedoms we need to stand together, we need to be informed, and most importantly, we need to come to Olympia and let our voices be heard!

Now is our chance to honor the men and women of the legislature who serve us.  They enact laws that impact our families and our future. Homeschool laws can have a more direct effect on our families than any other legislation.  It is important for us to share how much we value the freedom they have helped us to preserve. Take a break from your regular school day and join us in Olympia to honor the hardworking men and women of the legislature.

The Home Educators’ Day at the Capitol is a great educational experience for the whole family.

Join hundreds of home educators from across the state and stand united in celebrating our freedom to home educate our children. Be encouraged as you hear from legislators, state homeschool leaders, and others who applaud your efforts.  Attend a civic workshops (youth to adult), take a tour of the Capitol, meet with your legislators, get an up-to-date legislative report from CHN’s on-site volunteer lobbyist and get involved in the legislative process.

Homeschoolers will  again be surprising their representatives and senators by serving them homemade apple pies!   Sign up today to bring your pie:  http://saintevents.com/pieregistration.asp

Preserving homeschool freedoms for today and tomorrow!”

I highly recommend that you take the day on April 9th, 2009,  to attend the annual Homeschool Day at the Capitol.  Hopefully Olympia isn’t too far from where you are.  You can truly be a blessing to those that serve us in our government.  The building is really amazing and what a great educational experience!

Annual Home Educators’ Day at the Capitol &
Celebration “Under the Dome”
Thursday April 9, 2009
9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Hosted by the Christian Homeschool Network & Christian Heritage Home Educators of Washington

Pre-registration is still open:
Registration Packet with revised agenda and other important information

Come and celebrate with us “Under the Dome”

A message from CHN:

CHN has confirmed that Senator Stevens will again be sponsoring the Homeschool Resolution in the Senate. In coordination with the Home Educators’ Day at the Capitol event, the Senate will be holding a special presentation from the Floor to honor the success of home education. Please join us in the Senate galleries at 10:00 am (subject to change) for this special honor.
CHN and Christian Heritage will be honoring two special Senators that have served in the Legislature since the homeschool law was passed. Every year since then they have been diligent to protect our freedoms. It is about time we thanked them! Join us “Under the Dome” to show our appreciation for their sacrificial service.

Help us to again pack the Galleries and the Rotunda with home educating families to show our commitment to home education and express our gratefulness for the freedoms we have.

Other educational opportunities:

  • Hear from a homeschool mom whose efforts resulted in homeschoolers being exempt from the Education Reform Act, which is why homeschoolers don’t WASL!
  • Hear from a homeschool graduate who now works as an aide to a Senator.
  • Get an update on legislation which may impact your homeschool or family.
  • Attend a civics workshop.
  • Take a tour of the Capitol.
  • Watch the House and Senate in session.
  • Meet with your legislators and staff.

Preserving Homeschool freedoms for today and tomorrow!
